What is court reporting and realtime captioning?
Court reporters take down verbatim everything that is said in a deposition or courtroom. Realtime captioners provide live captions for the deaf, hard of hearing, and everybody else who wants the benefit from watching live captions. We can provide those captions in a classroom setting, on live TV, in a business meeting, or even in a conference for hundreds or even thousands of people.
We use a unique machine to write what is being said kind of like playing piano cords. Each cord, otherwise known as a stroke, represents a sound or brief form of what is being said. We can combine different keys to write anything we want. The sky is the limit with what we can customize to write. We even have computer coders who are learning steno to be able to write code faster.
